At Walker Midgley Insurance Brokers, we have been providing specialist insurance cover for unique and unusual items for over 40 years. Our story began in the 1970s when Tony Walker joined Midgley & Son Limited, a diverse company with interests in ferro alloy merchanting, marine surveying, shipping, compressed air equipment, auto electrical, and ore crushing. Tony's role was to look after the insurance needs of Midgley & Son, but it wasn't long before we started to attract business from outside the company.

Our Growth and Development

In 1977, Tony Wood joined the company, and our staffing levels increased by 100% overnight. This marked the beginning of our steady growth and development. In 1986, Paul Burgan joined the company, bringing his expertise to strengthen our commercial business. A decade later, Paul Burgan retired, and Tony Wood became the sole shareholder of the company. We relocated to our current offices in the centre of Sheffield in 2003, providing more space for our growing team.
